Water supply to all 463 affected areas in Selangor to be fully restored by Monday

Residents of USJ 2 in Subang Jaya getting their supply of water from Air Selangor water tanks deployed to their area.

SUBANG JAYA, Sept 4 – As of 9.00 pm Saturday, the restoration of water supply to the 463 areas affected by water cut has reached level 37.6 percent, Air Selangor said in a posting on its Facebook site.

All these areas, that have been without water the last few days intermittently due to shut down of the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant following the detection of odour pollution, can expect to see the full restoration of their water supply by Monday.

At least 80 percent of water supply in the Sepang district has been restored and 56 percent in Putrajaya and 25 percent in Kuala Langat. Work is ongoing for the supply of water to the remaining districts of Petaling and Ulu Langat.

There had been a cut in water supply earlier the week before the scheduled water cut again on Friday.

Air Selangor also cautioned users who have received water supply to let the water flow until it is clear before using it.

The water company has also deployed water tanks to all affected areas to provide water for its consumers.

For those wishing to get updates on the situation or information on water supply for their areas can do so, through Air Selangor’s Twitter, Facebook and Instagram account or by contacting Air Selangor Relations Center at 15300.
