Meta partners SOLS 24/7 to offer Meta Boost – a free course for small, local businesses to push up their digital presence

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 7 – Facebook company Meta in partnership with non-profit company SOLS 24/7 (SOLS) and SOLS edu has rolled out a free online certified programme, Meta Boost, to help small, local businesses enhance their presence online.

Available both online and in-person, the course will provide digital training to the small businesses on how to go virtual and establish an online digital presence using Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp.

In a statement released Friday, SOLS said it has been working at empowering underserved communities the last 22 years.

The initiatives include providing language (English) as well as digital skills, transformation of non government organisations (NGOs) and crowdfunding programmes for ministries, agencies, private and public corporations, as well as universities and schools.

Since then, it has built the SOLS edu, a Progressive Web app and android app full of free courses that teach Employable English skills for school, university and business purposes. Concurrently, SOLS has also established itself as a job preparation and digital education provider for the Orang Asli and the Bottom 40 (B40) group.

On the latest project – Meta Boost – SOLS said the program will be taught by certified Meta Boost trainers.

It will have 4 modules that will cover establishing an online presence, using Facebook to raise awareness, getting started with META business suite as well as reaching audiences through personalised Facebook

Apart from the online training, in-person training will begin in the first quarter of 2023 in seven states
including: Johor, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Kelantan and Pahang.

SOLS said it will continue on its mission to serve, educate and empower the bottom 40 percent lower income population in Malaysia. Globally, it has more than 550,000 students in seven countries gaining from its services.

With a strong presence in Malaysia and Indonesia, its programmes are manned by over 100 full-time team members from more than 20 countries.
