Maxis to conduct special programme for budding entrepreneurs in conjunction with Deepavali

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 – As part of its efforts to empower local Indian businesses, telecommunications company Maxis has been running a campaign in conjunction with the Deepavali season where it is helping the businesses with digital acceleration to boost their income opportunities during the festive season.

In a recent statement, Maxis said it will be also holding a special Deepavali edition of eKelas Usahawan programme to equip budding entrepreneurs with digital tools and skills to grow. This is expected to be conducted at the Menara Maxis in November.

The eKelas Usahawan is a structured digital marketing programme to help entrepreneurs develop a
stronger digital presence. It comprises a series of digital marketing workshops at no cost, with a
practical and hands-on approach to equipping them with digital tools and skills to help them
grow their respective business and expand their income opportunities.

On its ongoing campaign – Light Up Possibilities – putting the spotlight on 100 local traders and entrepreneurs to boost their income opportunities during the festive season, Maxis has been featuring them through radio and TV ads on Astro Raaga and various Indian channels on Astro.

It has also put up their virtual business cards on the Maxis’ website to help lead shoppers
directly to the businesses’ respective channels, as well as encourage support for these
businesses on Maxis and Astro’s YouTube, Facebook and Instagram channels.

Products promoted include apparel, F&B, decorations, home items, arts and crafts.
