Updated: KL World Trade Centre PPV Closes With Final Vaccination Shot

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 — Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin today witnessed the final vaccination operations at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre Pusat Pemberian Vaccine (PPV), which was the first mega vaccination centre in the city.

It has been operating since May-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.

The Minister also witnessed the final vaccine recipient at the centre Muhd Haidhar, 20, taking his second dose today.

Haidhar was the 1,285,193th person to receive his vaccine shot at the PPV KLWTC.

As part of the final ceremony, Dr. Husni Zaeem, who was the manager of the PPV KLWTC gave the centre’s final vaccine shot to Haidhar.

Khairy expressed his appreciation to all the staff who had been deployed at the centre including the CITF staff, police, the armed forces, RELA, ProtectHealth volunteers as wel as the staff of KLWTC.

Meanwhile, Khairy was also quoted by local media saying that the government will be closing down mass vaccination centres in the country in stages.

With most of the adult population vaccinated, the government will be moving into providing vaccination shots for the people through government clinics and district hospitals.
