KUALA LUMPUR, May 14: The Le French Festival 2024 from May 29 to July 14 is set to bring together Malaysian and French cultures and people with an invigorating celebration of its core values, namely sports, family and inclusivity.

The 22nd edition of the festival, organised by the French Embassy and Alliances Françaises de Malaisie, will tour Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Baru and Kuching.

The French ambassador to Malaysia, Axel Cruau, said the festival promises an array of events and activities to captivate audiences of all ages and backgrounds with a resounding emphasis on sports as this year’s theme, echoing the spirit of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“First of all, sports of course, as the Olympic and Paralympic Games will take place in Paris in just a few weeks.

“Also for family, with specially curated movies and activities for the little ones and their parents. And inclusivity, as we want to share our culture as much as possible with our friends all over Malaysia,” he said at the launch of the festival in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday.

The Le French Festival 2024 caters to diverse interests, including cinema, digital art, photography, painting, music, dance, theatre, sport and gastronomy.

The festival will include the screenings of 16 movies, featuring latest releases from France, such as The Three Musketeers: MiladyThe Taste of Things and The Animal Kingdom alongside family-friendly options like Epic Tails and The Little Nicholas.
