PETALING JAYA , July 5 – Former MIC deputy president Tan Sri S. Subramaniam, 78, passed away today, The Star reported.
The report cited Subra’s son Sunther saying that his father died peacefully in his sleep at 8pm today.
Subra served as the deputy MIC president from 1979 till 2006 before he was ousted by Datuk Seri G. Palanivel in the 2006 party polls.
He served two terms as Damansara MP from 1974 to 1982 and Segamat MP for four terms with his final term being the 1999 General Election.
Subramaniam’s funeral will be held at the family home in Section 16, Petaling Jaya on Thursday (July 7).
