SUBANG JAYA, March 24 — Printing and visual technology expert, Epson Malaysia, has launched its “Be Cool” campaign aimed at encouraging greener printing practices among business entities using the company’s Heat-Free technology.

As Malaysian businesses are evolving rapidly, implementing green-alternatives is expected to further strengthen business capacity and improve the efficiency of using finite resources with a zero-waste approach.

A virtual forum themed “Building Business Resilience through Sustainable Technology” was held as part of the campaign, driving conversations on the matter of environmental and business sustainability.

A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed by Epson Malaysia and EcoKnights, an environmental non-governmental organization (NGO) on their partnership for the campaign.

Managing Director of Epson Malaysia, Mr. Daisuke Hori, who spoke at the virtual forum asserts that companies, particularly the manufacturing industry may not be able to avoid burdening the environment but the least they could do is to work towards reducing the burden.

Sharing similar views, guest speaker, Mr. Fadly Bakhtiar, Programme Director of EcoKnights added that a growing number of businesses are gaining significant financial and environmental benefits from sustainable business practices as consumers are also more conscious and critical.

With Epson Heat-Free technology, Epson inkjet printers consume up to 85% less energy and also produce 85% less carbon dioxide as opposed to laser printers, enabling businesses to save on their electricity bills while reducing environmental impact.

The Epson Be Cool campaign also aims to raise RM20,000 donation for EcoKnights trees planting initiative through their sales proceed of EcoTank printers during the campaign period, starting from March 29 March to June 30 June this year.
