KUALA LUMPUR, April 1 – A total of 19 Memorandum of Understanding were signed in Beijing, China today between companies from Malaysia and the People’s Republic of China following a roundtable discussion session with business figures from China.
The deals were made during Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s fourth day of an historical official visit to the country, heading a Malaysian delegation to China that included several Cabinet ministers.
In a statement issued in his Facebook today, Anwar said the total investment commitments that exceeded RM170 billion was the highest from China to Malaysia with sectors focused on green technology and digital economy.
The Prime Minister said he was confident that the agreements would boost the national economy, adding that there will certainly be a ‘spillover effect’ on the local small and medium industrial enterprises.
