KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 20 – It is not always that a fashion icon turns up at your shop, much less both a fashion icon and a pop idol turning up at the doors at the same time, but this is exactly what happened when Taiwan’s singing sensation, Jay Chou and the renowned Jimmy Choo turned up together at PHANTACi Kuala Lumpur recently.

Choo was a guest of honour at Jay Chou’s highly successful “Carnival” concert held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium here on January 15th.

According to a press release by PHANTACi, the meeting between the two big names, just before the concert, could have been about a possible collaboration between them.

“It’s been almost 5 years since the opening of PHANTACi’s Kuala Lumpur outlet in Malaysia. Jay Chou, who is also the creative director of PHANTACi, took a tour of the shop with Choo,” the statement said, adding that the two talked about fashion and Chou’s reality show “J Style Trip”.

Jay Chou had also said that he was looking forward to working with Choo, the legendary designer who created the high-heel brand Jimmy Choo and who became world-famous when the late Princess Diana revealed her private collection of over 100 pairs of Jimmy Choo high heels.

Meanwhile, PHANTACi, inspired by the creative direction of Jay’s concert, which saw a record crowd of 45,000 people including Malaysia’s former badminton champion Lee Chong Wei, has come up with a limited-edition T-shirt and hat featuring a fun carnival atmosphere design combined with Jay’s favourite fantasy magic theme.
