PENANG, June 5: Long-term sustainability is a major factor in the development of the upcoming Capstone Corporate Suites in Bandar Cassia, a fast growing township in Batu Kawan in mainland Penang.
Whether it is the water catchment facility, green areas, waste management or energy efficiency, all these were the important considerations when planning the office suites, CEO of PE Land, Joanna Ling, told Weekly Echo, during a recent business forum on the Capstone Corporate Suites.
The corporate suites are the first in mainland Penang being built to the GreenRE Gold Standards, a rating tool developed by the Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association (REHDA) for buildings that have achieved a high-tier certification for sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental performance in the tropics.
The idea was not about just providing an office space, but one that met the current and future needs of an office builting that is aligned to sustainability goals, Ling said.
Office workers will also benefit from a balanced approach taken in the development of the suites and building including ample green space, use of low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC)-compliant paints for all internal finishes, provision of EV charging bays, naturally ventilated car park.
Capstone is a reflection of PE Land’s commitment sustainability-driven development, Ling said: “Sustainability and longevity are at the core of what we do – creating spaces that are efficient, future-ready, and responsible.
“This philosophy is evident in our earlier developments, including Design Village Outlet Mall, the first shopping mall in Malaysia to receive GreenRE Platinum certificate.”
