Raja Idris Raja Kamaruddin appointed LGM Chairman – Khairuddin

KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 – Corporate leader Datuk Idris Raja Kamaruddin has been appointed the Chairman of the Malaysian Rubber Board effective April 15, this year, a statement issued by the Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, Datuk Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali said today.

A key role mandated to Idris Raja as the new chairman of LGM will be to restructure again the direction for the assets held by LGM and to resolve issues involving five of its facilities in Sungai Buloh, which have been delayed for the past few years, the minister said.

The new chairman is expected to look into a new strategic plan by LGM together with LGM Properties Corporation to manage the properties as well as the plantations owned by LGM.

The minister also said that Datuk Ahmad Nazlan Idris had earlier been appointed as the LGM Chairman effective April 15 following the resignation of Datuk Ahamad Jazlan Yaakob, but Ahmad Nazlan had declined to take up the appointment.

With the appointment of the new chairman, the services of Ahmad Nazlan has ended effective April 14, he said.

To ensure the smooth operations and administration of LGM, the Deputy Secretary General of Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry, Mad Zaidi Mohd Karli has been appointed as an interim Chairman of the LGM Board of Directors, Khairuddin said.
