GELANG PATAH, Dec 24 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob must clear the air on who is the Selangor Chairman of the National Security Council, says DAP Member of Parliament for Iskandar Puteri Lim Kit Siang.
In a statement issued here today, Kit Siang said the Prime Minister’s silence on the matter was ominous.
The post of the Selangor NSC chairmanship became a bone of contention when former chairman, who is Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar, said he was still chairman while Selangor Menteri Besar said he had been reappointed to the post on Dec 22 following a National Security Council meeting.
The confusion has lingered with the blame being passed around on who should have been responsible for the poor flood rescue operations.
“Such a confusion should not arise in the midst of the deadliest flood disaster which has claimed 37 lives so far,” said Kit Siang.
He also questioned the basis on how the prime minister could have given his Cabinet 90 percent score for its performance in its first hundred days, amid the poor handling of the flood disaster in Selangor and Pahang with unprecedented loss of lives and ten of billions of property losse.
He called on Ismail Sabri to state clearly who is the Selangor Chairman of NSC.
