KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 (Bernama) — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today shared the sad news of the demise of his eldest brother, Idrus Ibrahim.
Through a posting on Facebook, Anwar said he received the heart-wrenching news while returning home from his three-day working visit to China.
“It is difficult for me to express this sense of loss when a figure who shared so many memories throughout life’s journey is now gone, and only Allah SWT knows how heavy my heart is in accepting this reality.
“Regretful for not being by your side in your final moments, but I accept it even though my heart is still trying to come to terms with a separation we were never prepared to face,” he said.
The Prime Minister also prayed that the soul of the deceased be forgiven for all his shortcomings, be bestowed with mercy, and be placed among His faithful and righteous servants.
He also requested the public and friends to offer prayers and recite the Al-Fatihah for the late Idrus.
“Thank you for all the memories and kindness you have left behind, and everything will remain etched in our memories and hearts,” he added.
