People facing food supply problem urged to call nearest Welfare Dept Unit

PUTRAJAYA, July 16 – People who have had their access to food supply cut have been urged to get in touch with the Welfare Department closest to them.

Alternatively they can call Talian Kasih at 15999 to get help with the Bakul Prihatin Negara – a food basket initiative announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Thursday.

The food basket initiative is being jointly undertaken by the Prime Minister’s Department with RM5 million funds and private sector companies that have contributed RM16 million for the food assistance project.

The fund is expected to help 1.68 million people across the country with the distribution of 420,000 staple food baskets.

The food baskets are prepared and distributed via the Bakul Prihatin Negara centre at Dewan Perdana Nur of the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry (KPWKM) in Putrajaya.
