HYDERABAD, July 29 (Bernama) — Pakistan and Jordan have condemned Israeli provocations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its aggression in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi in a phone call on Tuesday discussed Jordan’s proposal to convene a meeting of a group of Arab and Islamic countries “to take stock of the evolving situation and coordinate diplomatic efforts,” Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry said in a post on social media platform X.
“The two leaders expressed grave concern over the worsening situation in Palestine, particularly the continued Israeli military actions in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank, including intensified air strikes, ongoing ground operations, and escalating settler violence,” it said.
They said the repeated incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem by Israeli settlers and extremist groups violate the sanctity of the holy site, inflame tensions, and undermine prospects for peace.
Palestinians are witnessing growing acts of Jewish settler terrorism under the occupation military’s protection.
Their homes, properties, mosques, and farmlands have been set ablaze in recent days.
The Pakistani and Jordanian ministers condemned these provocative and illegal actions and affirmed the necessity of a joint regional and international effort to confront them, according to a Jordanian Foreign Ministry post on X.
Safadi also discussed these issues with the foreign ministers of Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Qatar, Tunisia, and Turkiye.
