KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 – The Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) will be releasing RM382,000 this week to assist its 54 affiliates meet the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
OCM President, Tan Sri Norza Zakaria in recognizing the unprecedented challenge brought about by the extended lockdown and the Covid19 crisis, has called upon the OCM Trust Management Committee to consider a fourth assistance package to the 54 National Sports Associations affiliated to the OCM, a statement issued in the OCM’s website said on Monday.
“I am thankful to the members of the OCM Trust Management Committee for approving this important initiative for the benefit of all our members. This demonstrates our solidarity and commitment during these difficult times,” said Norza who is also the Chairperson of the OCM Trust Management Committee.
This fund will be made available to all OCM affiliates and aims to alleviate their administrative expenses at a time when the cancellation of and inability to organize events in particular have affected revenue streams, it said.
