KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Razarudin Husain has been appointed the new Inspector General Police (IGP) effective for a period of two years from June 23, 2023 till June 22, 2025. A press statement issued by Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail here today, said the appointment was consented by His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on the advice of the Prime Minister under Clause 4 and 5 Article 140 of the Federal Constitution.

His appointment follows the early retirement of Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah as the country’s IGP.

Razarudin, 61, was born in Dengkil, Selangor on March 15, 1963.He graduated with a Master’s Degree in Social Science in Policing from the National University of Malaysia and has held various key positions in the police force prior to his appointment.

Saifuddin also announced the appointment of CP Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay as the Deputy Chief IGP.
