Malaysia to host 100 over poets, international writers at RAIPO

PETALING JAYA, Nov 24 — RA International Poets, Writers & Readers Festival (RAIPO) which will be held from Dec 8 to 13th in Selangor and Perak is set to host more than 100 poets and writers representing 12 countries from Latin America, Europe and Asia.

The festival’s Chairman, Raja Ahmad Aminullah said the festival will be organised in two stages, at the Strand Mall here from Dec 8 to 10 and in Ipoh From Dec 11 to 13.

He added, the participants would include poets and writers from Puerto Rico, Bulgaria, India, Spain, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Russia, Indonesia, Singapore, Egypt, and Brunei.

“Among the writers are Maja Panatova (Bulgaria), Maria De Los Angeles (Puerto Rico), Aminur Rahman (Bangladesh), Nguyen Bao Chan (Vietnam), Kirpal Singh (Singapore), Ahmed Al Shahawy (Egypt), Dr. Victor Pogadaev (Russia), Bundo Free, Lily Siti Multatuliana and Dwi Ermayanthi (Indonesia), Dr. Sudipto Chatterjee, Mehzabeen Hussain and Dr. Reshma Ramesh (India), Remedios Alvarez and Ana M Galan (Spain).  Malaysia will be represented by four National Laureates namely Dr. Muhammad Haji Salleh, Datuk Dr. Siti Zainon Ismail, Datuk Seri A. Samad Said and Datuk Anwar Ridhwan,” he said in a statement here today.

Raja Ahmad said this convergence promises to be a harmonious celebration of creativity, diversity, and the enduring power of literature to unite people across borders.

Organised by RA Arts Haven in collaboration with ENCORP Bhd. and Tourism Perak, RAIPO is also supported by FELDA, Forum Ekonomi Manusiawi, MERCY Malaysia, and Malay College Old Boys Association.
