KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 – Malaysia’s King, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah conferred 839 individuals with federal awards, honours and medals in conjunction with the His Majesty’s official birthday celebration today.
Among the notable names included the late Menteri Besar of Kelantan Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat who was posthumously conferred the “Tan Sri” title given with the Darjah Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM) award.
The investiture ceremony, broadcast live by the national television station, also saw DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang conferred the Tan Sri title.
Among the 25 individuals conferred with PSM were Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Johari Abdul, Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak Datuk Abdul Rahman Sebli and Federal Court judge Datuk Nallini Patmanathan.
