PUTRAJAYA, July 14 (Bernama) — The Home Ministry (KDN), through the Immigration Department (JIM), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and relevant agencies, is conducting a comprehensive review and investigation into the operations of the ‘Network School’ in Forest City, Johor, following allegations that Israeli nationals were among its participants.
KDN said it took note of the Johor government’s statement on the issue, as well as public concerns over claims that individuals involved had used second-country passports to enter Malaysia.
The ministry said it viewed seriously any matter involving national security, compliance with immigration laws and the misuse of Malaysia’s immigration facilities.
“KDN is conducting a thorough investigation, including into the identities and nationalities of the individuals involved, the status and validity of the travel documents used, the types of passes or immigration facilities granted, the purpose of entry into Malaysia, and compliance with conditions imposed under immigration laws and other relevant legislation.
“KDN is also working closely with all relevant ministries and agencies to ensure that all aspects under their respective jurisdictions are reviewed comprehensively in accordance with existing laws,” it said in a statement today.
The ministry said firm action would be taken without compromise if investigations uncover any violation of the law, misuse of immigration passes, submission of false information or any other offence that could affect national security and interests.
“KDN stresses that the MADANI Government will not compromise against any individual or organisation that abuses the country’s immigration facilities or carries out activities that violate the law and could threaten national security, public order and national sovereignty,” it said.
KDN also advised the public against making any speculation that could interfere with the investigation process, urging them to allow authorities to conduct the probe professionally, transparently and in accordance with the law.
Earlier, Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi urged the KDN and relevant agencies to investigate the operations of the ‘Network School’ in Forest City.
Several posts, including videos shared on Threads yesterday, questioned the actual purpose of the Network School’s operations, alleging that the programme involved foreign nationals, including Israelis.
