Future Of Media To Be Discussed At HAWANA 2023 In Ipoh On Sunday

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 – What does the future hold for media organisations? This pertinent topic will be discussed at a forum by several experts in Ipoh on Sunday, May 28.

The forum, with the theme “The Future of Media”, is being held in conjunction with HAWANA 2023 or National Journalists’ Day 2023.

It is being organised by national news agency BERNAMA and IPPTAR or the Tun Abdul Razak Institute of Broadcasting and Information, both entities under the Ministry of Communications and Digital.

There will be two panel sessions at the forum – “Survival of Traditional Media in the Digital Era” and “Journalism in the Digital Age”.

The first session will feature M. Taufiqurrahman, Chief Editor, The Jakarta Post; Mohammad Kadri Taib, Senior Advisor, Malaysian Advertisers Association; Nicholas Sagau, Chief Operating Officer of Rev Media Group and Sheila Shanmugam, CEO Mindshare & Msix, who will speak on the relevance of traditional media, shift from print to digital and whether traditional media will continue to attract advertising dollars.

The second session will explore relevant areas like the survival of conventional journalism, adapting to a digital environment and the role of new media.

Panellists include Suhaimi Sulaiman, Director-General of Broadcasting; Alric Manickam, Country Manager at Agence France Presse for Malaysia, Indonesia & Brunei; and Andrew Ambrose, Brand Strategist, Brandzperts.)
