Fortune Of Russian Billionaires Up By US$7.7Bln Since January – BBI Index

MOSCOW, April 1 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) — The combined wealth of Russia’s richest entrepreneurs has increased by US$7.66 billion since the start of the year, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti on Wednesday based on data from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI).

The Bloomberg Billionaires Index is calculated based on the value of shares in companies owned by billionaires, with some estimates derived from ratios such as market capitalisation to EBITDA or share price to earnings per share.

The ranking includes 500 of the world’s wealthiest individuals, 20 Russian nationals among them, whose combined net worth stood at US$298.97 billion as of April 1.

Elon Musk remains the world’s richest person, with his net worth rising by US$24.2 billion this year to US$644 billion.

Larry Page holds second place despite a US$21.9 billion decline to US$247 billion, while Jeff Bezos has climbed to third, even as his fortune fell by US$23.3 billion to US$230 billion.

Sergey Brin dropped to fourth place as his net worth fell by US$20.4 billion to US$230 billion.

Rounding out the top five is Mark Zuckerberg, whose fortune decreased by US$30.5 billion to US$203 billion.
