PUTRAJAYA, June 17 – The number of COVID-19 patients in intensive care units (ICU) remained high at 909 in the country with 441 of them breathing with the help of ventilators.
In its daily update of the pandemic situation on its Facebook today, the ministry reported a continued rise in the number of recoveries with 7,530 bringing to total 608,465 people who have recovered from the virus.
New cases amounted to 5,738 with three imported cases and raising the total number of infections to 678,764.
A total of 60 people also died overnight, bringing the total of deaths to 4,202
Meanwhile, in his Twitter account today, Minister of Health, Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba said a total of 204,839 doses were administered on June 16.
With this, the total number of people vaccinated against the COVID-19 as of June 16 stood at 3,632,195 with 1,476,753 of them having taken their second dose of vaccine.
