KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24: Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will be here on Oct 30 and 31 for several meet-and-greet events with his fans.
Representing the Chelsea Football Club (CFC), his visit is under the auspices of CFC’s partnership with its official hotel partner, Ascott Limited (Ascott). This will be CFC’s fifth engagement in Kuala Lumpur, the organisers said in a statement.
The meet-and-greet sessions and fan activities will be held at Ascott Kuala Lumpur and Ascott Star KLCC Kuala Lumpur, including a watch party with a “live” screening of the English Premier League clash between Chelsea and Manchester United, beamed from Stamford Bridge.
Malaysia holds special meaning for the former Chelsea No. 9 as Hasselbaink was part of the side that won the FA Premier League Asia Cup held in Kuala Lumpur in 2003.
With 87 goals across 177 Chelsea appearances, Hasselbaink remains one of the most prolific and popular centre-forwards ever to wear the Chelsea shirt.
He won the Premier League Golden Boot with Chelsea in the 2000-01 season, scoring 23 league goals to finish as the division’s top scorer, one of two times he claimed the award across his career.
Hasselbaink said: “I really enjoyed visiting Kuala Lumpur previously, having been there when Chelsea visited for the FA Premier League Asia Cup just over two decades ago. Reliving those memories will be special, but what excites me most is meeting our fans in Kuala Lumpur, a city where the passion of the Blues always comes alive.“

Chelsea has also captured the FA Women’s League Cup three times as well as reaching the UEFA Women’s Champions League final in 2021. In two seasons, 2020/21 and 2024/25, a domestic treble of trophies was secured.
