BUKIT MERTAJAM, Aug 14 (Bernama) — Bukit Mertajam Hospital (HBM) here has made history by being ranked among the 250 greenest hospitals in the world in the World’s Greenest Hospitals 2026 ranking by Newsweek and Statista.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) said the achievement recognised HBM’s commitment to implementing climate-friendly healthcare practices and environmental sustainability.
“More importantly, HBM was selected, beating thousands of other hospitals from 36 countries in this inaugural edition, which recognises healthcare institutions worldwide for their outstanding commitment to climate-friendly healthcare and environmental sustainability.
“This proves that the sustainable healthcare agenda at MOH is not merely a campaign, but a real and continuous effort to build hospitals that are greener, more efficient and future-ready,” MOH said in a post on its Facebook page today.
MOH also congratulated the entire HBM staff and the MOH Engineering Services Division, which were instrumental in the hospital’s sustainability achievement.
