Total of 510,976 Malaysians have taken first dose of COVID-19 vaccine

KUALA LUMPUR, March 25: A total of 510,976 Malaysians nationwide have taken their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine as of Wednesday.

Announcing this on his Twitter account today, Health Minister Dr Adham Baba said 74,289 of them have also taken their second dose of the vaccine.

On Monday, National News Agency Bernama reported that the government expressed satisfaction with the delivery schedule of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19  vaccine by the manufacturer.

This would enable Phase 1 of the country’s immunisation exercise to be completed ahead of schedule, according to National Covid-19  Immunisation Programme Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health on Thursday reported two deaths due to the COVID-19 virus. It also said a total of 1,360 new cases had been registered, while the number of infections stood at 338,168 while 322,416 cases have recovered and deaths stood at 1, 248.
