ISTANBUL, Nov 6: Turkish police have detained a total of 62 people over suspected links to a fraud ring of fortune tellers and self-proclaimed mediums.
The group is accused of scamming and blackmailing clients online.
Police seized phones, SIM cards, laptops, and large amounts of digital material in raids across 29 cities and provinces.
Local daily Sabah said the group targeted hundreds of victims.
Fortune-telling is widespread in Turkiye, while authorities regularly warn citizens about related scams.
In July, two popular fortune-telling websites were targeted for fraud, and the founder was detained, according to local media.
