BUKIT MERTAJAM, Dec 26: Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Steven Sim has contributed RM100,000 to Sekolah Menengah Agama (SMA) Al-Ahmadiah Al-Ijtimaiah here, one of the oldest religious educational institutions in Seberang Perai Tengah.
Sim, who is also the Bukit Mertajam Member of Parliament, said the funds will be used to purchase five smart boards, benefiting 168 students.
“This initiative aims to ensure the 129-year-old institution remains relevant amid rapid technological advancements, while enhancing learning efficiency through improved facilities.
“The adoption of modern technology will also help ease teachers’ workload and create a more interactive and contemporary learning environment,” he said in a statement today.
Sim also announced that three additional smart boards will be contributed next year to ensure all classrooms at the school are fully equipped.
During his visit to the school in Padang Lalang, he stated that he also received briefings and feedback from the school management on other areas to improve the quality of education further.
Last year, Sim contributed RM60,000 for the implementation of a Smart TV project at the school and for the provision of learning equipment for the Islamic kindergarten (Tadika Islam, TADIS) under the institution.
