Slightly down but new COVID-19 cases still up at 6,241

PUTRAJAYA, June 6 – A total of 6,241 new positive cases of COVID-19 was reported today. A total of 87 deaths was also registered overnight, bringing the total number of people who have died from the virus to 3,378.

A total of 526,809 people have also recovered from the virus, the ministry reported in its daily briefing of the pandemic situation.

The number of COVID-19 patients on ICU continues to remain high at 890, while 444 patients were on ventilators.

The ministry continues to advise people to stay home and go out only when necessary, and has asked those who suspect of having been exposed to the COVID-19 virus to go for a test, inform the ministry or the district health office and go to the nearest COVID-19 Assessment Centre (CAC).
