KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 (Bernama) — The management of Saloma Kuala Lumpur today dismissed claims linking the premises to dubious activities, stressing that such allegations give a negative impression of the company and its operations.
In a statement, the company said allegations made by an individual known as Papagomo during a live social media broadcast, which later went viral, had caused misunderstandings and affected the image of Saloma Kuala Lumpur.
“The situation has sparked confusion and concern among the public, especially our loyal customers who have supported the growth of this Bumiputera business. To prevent misunderstandings and speculation, we stress that all statements made during the live broadcast are false, unfounded and malicious.
“Saloma Kuala Lumpur operates legally, fully complies with the country’s laws, and has never been involved in any illegal activities. Associating other parties’ activities with Saloma Kuala Lumpur is irresponsible and has harmed our reputation,” said the statement.
Saloma Kuala Lumpur said it had instructed its lawyers to deal with the issue firmly and would not tolerate any attempts to defame or undermine the company’s integrity.
Acting on our lawyers’ advice, we are taking all necessary legal steps to protect the company’s interests and ensure that those responsible for spreading the false information are held accountable, it said.
Meanwhile, Saloma Kuala Lumpur management urged the public not to make assumptions based on false information circulating on social media.
“Support from customers and Malaysians is greatly appreciated in our efforts to develop a rapidly growing Bumiputera business,” the statement said.
