Russian-Made AI Helps Find Over 120 Missing Children – Developer

MOSCOW, Dec 22 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) — Russian-made artificial intelligence (AI) helped locate more than 120 missing children and identify nearly 3,000 potential criminals in Russia’s Novosibirsk Region in 2025, developer NtechLab said on Monday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

“Our video analytic solutions have been used in the Novosibirsk Region for several years. Over the past year alone, NtechLab’s AI has helped find 120 missing children in the region and identify nearly 3,000 criminals. We plan to strengthen cooperation with the Novosibirsk Region in the future as well,” NtechLab CEO Alexey Palamarchuk said.

As many as 1,400 cameras are currently connected to the biometric video analytic system in the region, with plans to expand the AI’s use to 2,200 cameras by 2026, the deputy head of the local digital development ministry, Anton Loshakov, said.

“The neural network uses cameras installed in crowded public places such as transport infrastructure facilities, streets and squares, government institutions, including medical centres, sports facilities and shopping malls,” he added.

The solution has been in use in the Novosibirsk Region since 2023. The algorithm analyses video streams from city cameras and allows for the analysis and location of a missing person or potential criminal in a fraction of a second.
