Police Open Three Investigation Papers on Vehicle Burning in Taman Kinrara

KUALA LUMPUR, March 10: Police have opened three investigation papers in connection with the malicious burning of vehicles and criminal threats in the Taman Kinrara residential area in Puchong on March 9 and 10.

Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the investigations were initiated after police received two separate reports regarding the incidents at the same location.

He said that for the first incident, two investigation papers were opened under Section 427 and Section 506 of the Penal Code for mischief and criminal intimidation.

“For the second incident, an investigation paper has been opened under Section 435 of the Penal Code for mischief by fire involving vehicles,” he said in a statement today.

Shazeli said police are currently conducting detailed investigations from various angles to determine the motive behind the incidents and to identify and track down those involved.

In this regard, he warned the public against making speculations or posting provocative remarks about the incident that could affect racial harmony and public order.

“Strict action will be taken against any individual found to have violated the law. The public is urged to give the police space to complete the investigation process,” he said.

He also called on those with information about the case to come forward and assist by lodging reports at the nearest police station.
