PUTRAJAYA, Sept 16 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today announced an allocation of RM18,241,250 for Sabah to be provided under the National Agency for Disaster Management (NADMA).
The prime minister who is on a visit to Kota Kinabalu, said the assistance is aimed at helping the state launch its disaster response process to ensure the continued well being of its people. He also hoped that part of the money will be used to help victims of the landslide that took place in Penampang on Wednesday.
He also announced an increase in the cash assistance programme for the people in the state from RM500 to RM1,000.
The monsoon period is bound to be an additional burden for the people who have been affected by the ensuing floods, said the prime minister who also announced an allocation of RM9.5 million for operating expenses 2021/2022.
This will be distributed through the National Disaster Relief Trust Group under the Prime Minister’s Department.
