Melaka Election: BN Wins

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 – The Barisan Nasional coalition party won the Melaka state election, the Election Commission has officially announced, saying it had captured the needed simple majority of 15 seats as at 9.42 pm today.

At a press conference later EC chairman Datuk Abdul Ghani Salleh was reported saying that Barisan had won 20 seats out of the 28 contested, giving more than 50 percent of the seats it contested.

Pakatan Harapan won five seats while Perikatan Nasional won 2.

The seats won by BN were Paya Rumput, Ayer Molek, Kuala Linggi, Tanjung Bidara, Ayer Limau, Lendu, Taboh Naning, Rembia, Gadek, Machap Jaya, Asahan, Durian Tunggal, Pantai Kundor, Kelebang, Duyong, Rim, Serkam, Merlimau, Telok Mas, and Sungai Rambai.

Pakatan took Ayer Keroh, Bukit Katil, Kota Laksamana, Bandar Hilir and Kesidang.
