MADINAH, Oct 17 (Bernama-SPA) — The Public Sector Capabilities Index 2025 highlights Madinah’s strengths in urban innovation and institutional capacity building in the first report assessing cities’ abilities to adapt and transform, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Published by the University College London Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies, the field research was conducted in 45 cities, with input from over 200 government officials and 100 international experts.
Madinah excelled in adopting innovative methodologies and developing local governance mechanisms, mainly due to the “innovative government excellence model in Madinah”, established by Al Madinah Region Development Authority and the region’s municipality.
This model promotes partnership, innovation, and flexibility to enhance integration between the government, private sector, and community.
This distinction reflects the commitment of Madinah’s leadership, guided by Madinah Governor Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, to improve the quality of life and services for residents and visitors while supporting Saudi Vision 2030.
Al Madinah Region Development Authority, together with its partners, aims to expand this model into areas such as sustainability, digital transformation, and economic growth, further cementing Madinah’s position as a leader in sustainable development and institutional innovation.
