KSN Takes Action on Senior Ministry Official for Alleged Misconduct

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 9: A senior management official of a ministry has been placed on immediate leave following allegations of misconduct, Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said.

He said the decision was made to facilitate an immediate investigation.

“I have been informed of an allegation of misconduct involving a senior management officer in one of the ministries.

“Accordingly, the officer has been placed on immediate leave while an investigation into the matter is carried out,” he said in a statement today.

Shamsul Azri said that if the officer is found guilty, disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993.

He also stressed that the government would not compromise on any breach of governance or misconduct involving public officers.
