SHAH ALAM, Oct 27 – Former Member of Parliament for Klang, Charles Santiago, who has been replaced by Selangor State Government Exco (DAP) Ganabatirau Veeraman for the seat in the coming general election, said he will continue to support Pakatan Harapan, and has asked voters to do so too.

In a statement entitled “Thank you Klang” issued Wednesday, following the announcement by DAP’s secretary-general Anthony Loke the names of four candidates who will contest for parliamentary seats in Selangor out of 22 federal seats in the 15th general election (GE15), Charles said he will continue to work on rooting out corrupted politicians in the country.

We are at a crucial time, where each of our vote counts. And therefore, I humbly request that you cast your vote for a Pakatan Harapan government. My heartfelt good wishes go out to Ganabatirau Veeraman as he campaigns for your support.

Charles described his three terms as the MP for Klang as “incredible years” and thanked his supporters for their trust and friendship.

“We – you and me, share a common goal: to see a fair government in place. A government that rules with compassion, integrity, accountability and inclusion. A government that is committed to getting rid of corruption.

“I am sure my successor shares the same dream for this country of ours. And just like I did, he too needs your support. I know many of you are upset that I am not fielded again but I know we are better than the anger.

“On my part, I will be pushing our message to vote out UMNO and all corrupted politicians for Malaysians deserve better.”

During a fundraising event at a Kelana Jaya car park on Wednesday, Anthony Loke also announced that Gobind Singh Deo will contest for the Damansara parliamentary seat, Yeo Bee Yin the Puchong seat and Syahredzan Johan the Bangi seat.
