JPJ Warns Public Against Fake ‘Kopi-O’ Driving Licence Ads

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 5 (Bernama) – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) today warned the public to beware of fake advertisements offering driving licences without training or testing, commonly known as ‘kopi-O licences’.

JPJ said a Facebook account named Sekolah Memandu Jaya was promoting such services, falsely claiming that licences could be obtained without taking driving tests. The posts also featured a photo of Transport Minister Anthony Loke, apparently to gain public confidence.

“JPJ stresses that the advertisement and the account involved are fake,” the statement said.

The department urged the public not to be misled by unauthorised promotions of this kind to avoid confusion and potential scams.

Members of the public are encouraged to verify driving licence information directly with JPJ and to lodge official complaints through the JPJ Complaint Portal at https://jpj.spab.gov.my.
