Good news as DBKL offers 18 more lots for traders in Brickfields Deepavalli bazaar

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7: It was good news for 18 traders who were among a group of traders who had protested and sought for a trading place last month in the Deepavalli Bazaar in Brickfields.

The Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) today confirmed the offer of another 18 trading lots to these traders, at a cost of RM2,630 inclusive of a deposit of RM2,000.

Confirming the news on behalf of the traders, Gunaseelan Subramaniam said he appreciated this, considering that there were about only 13 days left for Deepavalli, which falls on October 20 this year.

Among the traders who made their protest last month, saying that their names had been left out in the traders list, are sellers of Deepavali cookies, clothes and accessories.

However, not all of them managed to get the trading lots. For one of the traders, who used to sell nasi lemak and other cookies in the previous bazaars, it was a disappointment. She, however, hopes to continue with her food business from her home.
