Eleven: An Intense Crime Thriller Packed with Unexpected Twists

by Sam Trailerman

Eleven is a 2025 Indian crime thriller film written and directed by Lokkesh Ajls in Tamil and Telugu.

It features Naveen Chandra and Reyaa Hari in lead roles. The film’s music is composed by D. Imman.

Released on 16 May to a not-so-fulfilling cinema audience response, the tables turned when it was streamed on the Over-the-Top (OTT) or Internet format.

Indeed, the film is a little bit slow, with no comedy, lovelorn characters or whatsoever, as it focuses entirely on crime investigations.

I feel that Eleven is more suited to watch at home via OTT in the comfort of a plate of nice lunch or dinner, as the music and cinematography are good. The emotional scenes in the movie are truly heartwarming, thus giving the meaning of Eleven as the name of the flick.

This movie tells the story of a man caught in crime and danger. There is action, drama, and mystery. This movie has all the right elements, starting from a good screenplay and nice acting by Naveen, although the character played by Anjana could have been better.

The plots were superb, with a very unexpected revelation at the end. The movie also carried good emotions through flashbacks and Abhirami’s narration as Shanti.

Eleven starts a little bit slow with the crime investigations. Later, it made me think it’s not your usual crime thriller movie.

This twisty movie had me thinking that some things were not logical, but I was glad that they were all explained towards the end. Strongly recommended to those who love thriller movies in Tamil and Telugu.

Eleven genuinely exceeded my expectations. The beauty of Eleven lies in its simplicity. Its concept is straightforward, yet it delivers a powerful message that resonates strongly. It’s a stark reminder that sometimes minimalism in storytelling can create maximum impact to provide emotional depth.

If you thought you’d be clever enough to predict any of the twisty plots, you’d be dead wrong as the next plot would make you want to scratch your head.

It has been ages since a Tamil or Telugu film has left me dumbfounded. I thoroughly enjoyed this brilliant thriller, which lasted two hours and 15 minutes, as it delivered suspense and surprise without overcomplicating things. It has a score of 7.28 Stars with 2.4K IMBD users.
