DAP congratulates new PM, calls on him to look into wellbeing of all Malaysians

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 – The DAP party today congratulated Member Parliament of Bera, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on his selection as the country’s ninth Prime Minister.

In a statement Saturday night, DAP Secretary General and Member Parliament of Bagan, Lim Guan Eng said the main task of Ismail would be to unite all Malaysians in the efforts to correct the mistakes and failures in the fight against Covid-19 that saw a record high of 23,564 new cases on Saturday, raising total number of cases to 1,513,025.

On Saturday, the total number of deaths stood at 13,713.

Lim also called on the new Prime Minister to help save Malaysians their jobs and businesses by bringing the country out of the economic downturn.

“Ismail needs to realise that he is Prime Minister for all the citizens of Malaysia. He must serve and protect the interest of each Malaysian regardless of their race, religion or background.”
