Covid 19: 21,668 new cases, record number of 93 Brought-In-Dead victims

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 12 – Malaysia saw another record number of 21,668 new Covid-19 cases overnight, with deaths amounting to 318 and a record number of 93 victims who were Brought-In-Dead.

There were a total of 58 imported cases, raising the total number of positive cases to 1,342,215.

A total of 17,687 recovered from the virus, increasing the number of recoveries to 1,093,503.

Todate, a total of 11,691 people have died from the virus. Meanwhile, 1,059 patients are being treated in intensive care units with 543 on assisted breathing.

According to Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah Selangor continued to record the highest number of cases with 6,278 (491,292), while Kuala Lumpur reported 2,436 cases to add to a total of 148,846 cases.

In Johor, 1,706 cases were reported, raising its numbers to 106,427 while Sabah reported 2,052 (100,031) cases and Sarawak – 1,216 (84,603). In Negeri Sembilan there were 899 new cases (82,470).
