China’s Anhui Province Continues To Advance Its Innovations In Science, Technology

BEIJING, Oct 22 – China’s Anhui province has been making huge progress in the area of science and technology over the years, and this year it presented an innovative programme, that will see its continued march forward, at the just concluded 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

The delegation from Anhui, spoke of the growing collaborative innovation in science and technology, and how the province has been actively responding to hot spots, development of blueprints, and building broad consensus in these areas.

In a statement made available to the Weekly Echo, Guo Qiang, who is spokesperson of the Anhui delegation and member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of Anhui Province, listed the scientific and technological cooperation projects when answering questions from journalists about the Yangtze River Delta Integration.

The Yangtze River Delta is a triangle-shaped megalopolis generally comprising areas of Shanghai, southern Jiangsu, northern Zhejiang and Anhui.

The interviews were held on October 18 at the press Center of the national congress.

The spokesmen of 14 delegations from Beijing, Tianjin, Anhui and other provinces attended and introduced their delegations’ discussion on the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

According to Guo Qiang, the China University of Science and Technology and Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other units had successfully developed the ‘Zucongzhi No. 2’ and ‘Jiuzhang No. 2’ prototype quantum computing machines.

Meanwhile, the new ceramic and aluminum material technology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Huaibei has been successfully applied to key components such as large aircraft and weather satellites, he said.

In a group interview, Guo Qiang said that in the recent years, Anhui has implemented its ambitious reforestation project through science and technology based innovations, while strengthening the economy of the people.

It has been jointly promoting the high-quality coordinated development of the area to meet the needs of the country with the combination of the key core technologies.

“We will jointly build a defense line for public safety in view of people’s lives and health,” said Guo Qiang.

“Anhui has integrated into the national strategy of Yangtze River Delta network.”

In the past 10 years, Anhui has achieved leapfrog development. Last year, its economic aggregate reached 4.3 trillion yuan (over US$0.59 trillion), and its per capita GDP exceeded US$10,000. It has also advanced as a province with science and education to become a source of scientific and technological
innovation.

“In the next step, we will further study, publicize and implement the Party’s 20 National Spirit, closely focus on the two key words’ integration ‘and’ high quality’ to strengthen innovation collaboration, deepen industrial collaboration, and jointly promote the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta,” Guo Qiang said.
