PUTRAJAYA, July 16 – An average of 100,000 samples were tested for the Covid-19 virus from July 2 to July 15, with a total of 141,523 testings carried out on July 15 alone, said Health Director General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah today.

These tests involved both the RT-PCR and RTK-Ag (diagram above), with Selangor carrying out 52,889 tests while Kuala Lumpur saw through 18,369 tests on Thursday.

The capacity to carry out more testing is there and this can be further expanded for example with the use of private laboratories, he said, adding that this can be especially used for targeted testing.
