SEREMBAN, July 30 (Bernama) — Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir has decreed the Darjah Seri Utama Negeri Sembilan and the Darjah Dato’ Setia Negeri Sembilan conferred upon Tan Sri Dr Mohd Rais Yatim, be revoked with immediate effect.
Title and Award Registrar Datuk Mohd Zafir Ibrahim said the two state honours were conferred on the former Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar in 2001 and 1979 respectively.
“This decision was made to safeguard the dignity, honour and sanctity of the Royal Institution of Negeri Sembilan,” he said in a statement today.
Rais, who is Parti Wawasan Negara chairman, served as Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar from 1978 to 1982.
