Autotronics–MARii Collaboration Catalyses Malaysia’s EV Industry, Sets New Horizon for 2026

Over the two years, together with Malaysia Automotive Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), Autotronics has trained 70 participants under the HEV-SR initiative, strengthening Malaysia’s pool of certified EV and hybrid professionals.

BANGI, Dec 22: Autotronics Centre of Excellence today marked a significant achievement in Malaysia’s electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid ecosystem with the Certification Presentation Ceremony for the Hybrid & Electric Vehicle Safety Response (HEV-SR) Training Programme, reinforcing national readiness in EV safety, servicing standards, and skilled workforce development.

Over the past two years of implementation with the Malaysia Automotive Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), Autotronics has trained a total of 70 participants under the HEV-SR initiative. All participants successfully passed and were awarded the nationally recognised SKM PPA G452-007-3:2019 – Electric and Hybrid Car Servicing, significantly strengthening Malaysia’s pool of certified EV and hybrid professionals.

In parallel, Autotronics also delivered the Automotive Remanufacturing Capacity Building (REMAN) programme, benefitting 30 participants, in response to industry demand for advanced competencies and sustainable automotive practices, a press release from Autotronics said today.

Significance of MARii

MARii plays a strategic national role in shaping Malaysia’s automotive future—bridging policy, industry, and talent development across emerging technologies such as EVs, robotics, and IoT. Through its industry-aligned frameworks and national coordination, MARii ensures that training outcomes translate into workforce readiness, safety assurance, and industry confidence.

Chairman of Autotronics (centre) Datuk T. Sri Ganes said the company is looking at expanded training capacity, advanced EV safety and servicing capabilities, and scalable talent pipelines aligned to national priorities in 2026.

The collaboration with Autotronics reflects MARii’s mandate to enable future-ready skills pathways that support Malaysia’s industrial transformation and EV adoption at scale.

“As Founder and Chairman of Autotronics, I view today’s certification ceremony as more than an academic milestone. It represents a key spark for the EV industry in Malaysia—where safety, competency, and trusted certification converge to accelerate national adoption,” said Datuk T. Sri Ganes.

The outcomes achieved reflect strong leadership and disciplined execution. Under the stewardship of Adam Tan, Managing Director of Autotronics, these initiatives were delivered with high standards, full completion rates, and clear industry relevance, he added.

New Horizon for EV in 2026

Autotronics is now preparing to enter a new horizon for EV development in 2026, with a focus on expanded training capacity, advanced EV safety and servicing capabilities, and scalable talent pipelines aligned to national priorities.

This forward momentum is expected to be further strengthened by policy direction and workforce development initiatives under the leadership of YB Datuk Seri Ramanan, Minister of Human Resources (MOHR), whose emphasis on skills certification and industry transformation closely aligns with Autotronics’ mission.

Autotronics remains committed to responsible collaboration with government and industry stakeholders. Any further formal partnerships or initiatives will be announced in due course, subject to governance processes and mutual agreement.

This milestone reaffirms Autotronics’ role as a strategic enabler of Malaysia’s EV transition, delivering certified skills, safety assurance, and industry confidence—today and into 2026.
