Audio of Durian Tunggal shooting incident to be handed over to Bukit Aman

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6: The families of the three young men who were allegedly shot dead by the police on November 24 in Durian Tunggal, Melaka, during a confrontation, were at the Bukit Aman police headquarters today to hand over an audio recording of the purpoted incident to help with further investigation.

They were accompanied by their lawyers Rajesh Nagarajan, Latheefa Koya, N. Surendran and activist Arun Dorasamy as well as some members of the public.

The incident, which was earlier reported as a self-defence action from the police, following the alleged slashing of a policemen with parang by the victims, took on another version following a disturbing audio recording by one of the victim’s wife of the last few moments of the men who were shot dead.

Post mortem of one of the victims, who still has a bullet lodged in his heart, is said to have been shot at close range, with the bullet having gone through his nose to the heart.

“This audio will be presented as a critical evidence in this case,” said Rajesh.
