Russian Billionaires’ Combined Wealth Up Nearly US$18bln Since Beginning Of 2025 – BBI

MOSCOW, Dec 1 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) — The combined wealth of Russia’s richest entrepreneurs has risen by US$17.874 billion since the beginning of 2025, calculations based on data from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI) showed on Monday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

The richest Russian entrepreneur was Vladimir Potanin, the CEO and main shareholder of the Nornickel metallurgical company, whose fortune grew by US$1.67 billion to US$29.5 billion.

Alexey Mordashov, the largest shareholder of the Severstal steel producer, was in second place, with his wealth rising by US$2.57 billion to US$25.8 billion.

The third place is held by Vladimir Lisin, the chairman and majority shareholder of steel producer NLMK, whose fortune fell by US$3.07 billion to US$22.8 billion.

Alisher Usmanov, the owner of Metalloinvest and Megafon, had the most gains, jumping to the sixth place from the seventh among Russian billionaires, as his fortune grew by US$5.32 billion to US$18.5 billion.

The index is calculated based on the value of shares of companies in which billionaires own shares.

For some companies, the calculation is based on the capitalisation-to-EBITDA ratio or share price to earnings per share.

In total, the BBI rating includes 500 of the world’s richest people, and it currently includes 21 Russian citizens, whose total wealth is US$306.5 billion, as of December 1.
