“It will be more than a conference. It will be a collaborative effort towards empathy, education, and empowerment, all aimed at building a compassionate society,” said Vishalatchi Arunagiri, founder of Suara Minda in a press release today.

She said the event would be timely with rising challenges of mental health globallly and locally. “It would be a reminder that mental well-being is not an individual concern but a shared responsibility.”

The event will emphasize on breaking stigma around mental health through open conversations and lived experiences, community care to highlight the power of collective support systems and the importance of education and awareness by equipping teachers, counselors, and workplaces with early intervention tools.

It would also feature “Healing Through Art & Expression”, showcasing pottery painting, floral therapy, and creative exhibitions by Suara Minda participants.

The event is also expected to hold keynote sessions by policymakers, leading psychiatrists, and advocates, while panel discussions will cover the areas of inclusive workplaces, education for neurodivergent thinkers, and caregiver empowerment.

Vishalatchi said the event would also offer networking opportunities to connect corporates, NGOs, and communities for sustainable partnerships.

As a platform for collaboration, she said: “This World Mental Health Day is not just about raising awareness for one day, but about building bridges that last beyond the event. Corporates, universities, and NGOs will have the opportunity to pledge ongoing support, whether through funding, CSR initiatives, or training programs like Mental Health First Aid (MHFA).”

It will certainly strengthen the understanding of mental health and offer the opportunity for a person, be it a student, worker, or caregiver to be supported and empowered.

The event will held at the Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort on Saturday, Oct 18, 2025, starting at 8am.
