PUTRAJAYA, Aug 22: MyGOV Malaysia App, which offer a host of public services through a single digital platform is set for a soft launch this weekend during the Program Madani Rakyat in Nilai.
On Wednesday, the media was introduced to the Beta version of the application by the Digital Ministry’s secretary general Fabian Bigar.
He said the application, which carries the spirit of “Aplikasi Rakyat Untuk Rakyat” was developed entirely in-house by the Government, through the Jabatan Digital Negara (JDN), with no external vendor involved.
“This reflects our strong commitment towards digital sovereignty to build, own and control our own national digital infrastructure. This initiative is also one of the earliest showcases of GovTech Malaysia, driven through a whole-of-government approach. It combines the expertise of MyNIC Berhad, MyDIGITAL Corporation, CyberSecurity Malaysia together with the strategic collaboration of MyDigital ID Sdn. Bhd.”
For the first phase, the Beta version of MyGOV brings together 34 essential government services. Among them are digital documents such as MyKAD, Driving Licence, Road Tax, Passport and OKU Card; health records via MySejahtera including clinic appointments, immunisation, dental treatment and health screenings; traffic summons and document status checks; as well as an AI-powered chatbot for instant interaction and user support.
However, Fabian added that it was not an easy task bringing together all government services into one single app.
This will not be an overnight achievement and it would require time, complex technical integration, coordination across ministries, and above all, continuous improvement.
“That is why MyGOV will evolve in phases, and we will keep refining it based on rakyat’s feedback and real-world usage.”
At the briefing on Wednesday, media members were taken through the works of the application and given the opportunity to give their feedback and input.
